Hubballi: Perhaps, in a first for the Hubballi-Dharwad region, Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar, along with his deputies, patrolled the city on mopeds and bikes Saturday evening, sending a clear message to anti-social elements that law enforcement stands ready to respond firmly to any threats. The exercise was an “area domination” initiative aimed at enhancing police visibility and reassuring the public of their safety.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Mahaning Nandagavi, DCP (Crime and Traffic) Ravish C.R., as well as ACPs and Inspectors, Commissioner Shashi Kumar toured several sensitive areas in the Hubballi South subdivision. The team actively engaged with individuals whose behavior raised suspicion, questioning them to deter potential criminal activities.

According to police sources, the patrolling exercise, which began around 8:30 p.m. from the Old CAR Ground, spanned over three hours, covering extensive areas in the city’s southern part.
